Evaporation is a main technique for desalination of fluids. One of the most energy efficient evaporation systems is Dynamic Vapor Recompression (DVR). DVR is a technique in which the major heating source is the vapour.
It picks up energy when being compressed to higher pressure and temperature. On condensation the energy of the vapour is transferred is a heat exchanger to the saline fluid stream.
With DVR it is possible to concentrate any saline fluid. Convex improved the basic DVR concept by implementing technical innovations which makes the system even less energy consuming.

Purpose
Developing an energy efficient evaporation technology for treatment of brine streams
Description
Aqua Explorer and Convex have engineered a unique system; an advanced development derived from regular Mechanical Vapor Recompression : Dynamic Vapor Recompression (DVR).This is an energy efficient evaporation system usable for concentration of any saline fluid. e.g. within a project with PWN we using the DVR technology behind the innovative SIX Ion-Exchange of PWN to treat the regenerate.
Main objectives are minimizing the regenerate, water reuse and recovery of NaCl.
Deliverable
A DVR system with a capacity of 250 L/h for treatment of regenerate from an Ion-Exchange. The system can be designed and constructed for any range of flows because the number of cyclones can be modularly extended.
